Brownie 127 (Second Model)
Similar in appearance to the original, but with fine vertical ribbing on the body, a Dakon lens and a larger viewfinder. There are several minor variations of this camera, the most obvious being that some have a grey shutter button and winding knob, others have white. Also available in VERY limited quantities (about 5,000) in grey/white, which got dirty quickly. These "albino" cameras were retailed here in the Channel Islands as a marketing exercise around 1959. It would seem most were bought by tourists, as they are virtually unknown locally, but do turn up occaisionally in the UK. Note that these cameras should have a silver/grey neckstrap, rather than the black strap of the "normal" camera. I have it on good authority that there was at least a concept of releasing this camera in a variety of colours in several coastal resorts in the UK. Whether this ever transpired I have yet to confirm.name | : Brownie 127 (Second Model) | produced between | : 1959 - 1963 | lens | : Dakon f/11 | shutter | : Rotary | film type | : 127 | picture size | : 6 x 4 cm | quantity made | : Several million | original list price (USD) | : GBP 1.4/6 | categories | : 127, brownie |
